Highland
On the east side of Mount Rinjani is the beautiful
and fascinating Sembalun Valley. At a height of
1.150m asl, Sembalun Valley has a cool and pleasant
weather. It’s known locally that the people of this
area are direct descendants of the Majapahit dynasty.
Sembalun lies in the district of Aikmel, about 92
kilometers from Mataram. The name "Sembalun" originates
from the words "sembah" and "Wulun", which means
"to worship the King". According to Lombok people,
Mount Rinjani is known as the "Home of the Gods"
and hence the mountain is viewed with reverence
and worship.
Sembalun Valley ( Green Valley Mountain View ) is
divided into two villages, namely Sembalun Lawang
and Sembalun Bumbung which are about 2 km apart.
These two villages are well known well as traditional
villages with a lot of history about the Sasak people.
Sembalun, not only offers a higher starting point
for the trek to Mount Rinjani, but is also well
known for its beautiful and scenic hill walks. In
addition, it also has a recently restored traditional
village with active cultural performers and local
weavers which makes for a more interesting and culturally
rich experience.
Sembalun Lawang, is located in a cool rural area
- a unique, comfortable and charming in lombok decorated
with plateau - flat - at the foot of a mountain
valley surrounded by hills.
Sembalun Valley is also a major producer of vegetables
and fruits including onion, garlic, chilli. To get
to the area we have to cross the Sembalun hill 1600m
above sea level, and along the journey is the beautiful
scenery of rice terraces.

SAH 01: Sembalun Soft Trekking ( Agro Hiking )
Duration : 8-9 hours (One day tour)

We Start from your hotel (senggigi) 08.00 am, it
will take around 3 hours, a long the way you might
see, traditional market, rice terrace, some hindus
temple, monkey forest and some other things.
Arrive in sembalun, we start hiking for 3 hours,
through the plantation and people activities local
people in the farm, planting and picker the things
from the farm (cabbage, potatoes, garlic onions,
strawberry, apples, and more vegetables).
Visiting oldest bamboo garden in Lombok, Visiting
Traditional Houses of Lombok, for lunch you can
get in sembalun, there is restaurant and small warung
with local food.
After lunch, come back to senggigi through northern
part of lombok ,where you can see the ocean view
with three gili’s, Malimbu beach lombok the nicest
sunset view with agung mountain bali as a background.
I. SAH 02: SEMBALUN AGROHIKING 1M/2H
Itinerary:
Hari 01: senggigi Hotel/Airport - Sembalun
From Hotel ( Senggigi ) or airport Selaparang drive
to Sembalun. To get to the area we have to cross
the Sembalun hill 1600m above sea level, and along
the way is a beautiful landscape decorated by green
rice fields dazzling.Rice terrace is typical of
the way farming population of lombok. Overnight
in Lembah Rinjani or camping in the tent.
Hari 02: Sembalun Agrowisata Hiking - Senggigi
After Breakfast we start hike through to plantations
and see locals who are planting and harvest ; cabbage,
potatoes, onion, garlic, strawberries, apples and
other vegetables. and then we Visiting Lombok's
oldest bamboo garden, traditional customs house
of Sembalun. 3 pm back to Senggigi, end of service.
